Drainage

Lightning provides a multitude of services to help with drainage problems around your property.  Improper drainage can result in your turf and landscape areas being unhealthy and un-usable.  Proper drainage around your home or business can help eliminate wet areas and foundation problems.

Dry Creek Beds

Dry creek beds have many applications.  Have a slope on the side of your house where you lose topsoil to erosion after a hard rain, or is that slope always muddy at the base?  Kill two birds with one stone and install a dry creek bed to stop that erosion and take care of that muddy spot.

French Drains

A French drain is a ditch or trench filled with gravel or rock that redirects water away from an area. We can use a French Drain to divert water from a problem spot to another part of the property where the water can disperse without causing harm to foundations, turf areas, plantings, etc.

Downspout Drains

Downspout drains are often useful if water drains from your downspouts right near your foundation.  We have all seen those spots on the sides of our houses where the level of the topsoil is higher in the turf area than near the foundation, this can be caused by your downspouts and splash guards routing the water incorrectly.  Add some downspout drains and we can easily fix this problem.  You know what they say, an ounce of prevention….

Re-grading

Re-grading is usually used along with downspout drains, but is not exclusive to them.  We want a good positive slope away from the foundation.  A good deal of, but not all, drainage issues can be solved by simply changing the grade of the areas near your foundation.  We add topsoil and make certain that your water flows away from your foundation.
